The risk of contracting COVID-19 during an ADK program cannot be eliminated, but we have identified mitigation strategies to reduce that risk in a pre-vaccine environment. With those strategies in place, we believe the risk can be managed appropriately.
As ADK (Adirondack Mountain Club) continues to monitor the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), ADK has developed the following
College Winter Yurt Program
WEEKENDS; February, March, April
College groups can reserve ADK’s heated yurts on weekends from February through April. Come spend a weekend with fellow students in the heart of the Adirondack Park while learning winter preparedness skills with one of ADK’s education staff. Cost: $90-$120 per person (members receive 10% discount); includes a two-night stay in yurt, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and Sunday breakfast, guided trips and, use of ADK’s snowshoes and microspikes.
Young Members Weekend at Johns Brook Lodge
August 13-15, 2021
Johns Brook Lodge has been reserved for the 6th year in a row for young ADK members to come together and explore the High Peaks Region this summer. Enjoy the comforts of the backcountry lodge and delicious food, make new friends, and get some hiking in! This social and recreational program is geared for people in their 20’s and 30’s. This program includes two nights lodging and six meals, all prepared by the amazing JBL staff. Good physical fitness is required due to rugged terrain and previous hiking experience is strongly recommended.
Cost: $175 (members receive 10% discount); includes a two-night stay in Johns Brook Lodge, all meals, and an optional guided trip.
