Johns Brook Camps
The Adirondack Mountain Club’s backcountry cabins offer a unique experience in the Adirondack backcountry. The cabins are located on a 24 acre inholding the ADK owns in the heart of the High Peaks Wilderness. Both cabins have a full set of kitchenware, propane stove, and sink. There is no running water but each cabin is located adjacent to Johns Brook. During the colder months of the year the cabins are heated with propane heaters.
Camp Peggy O’Brien
Camp Peggy O’Brien is a rustic yet spacious backcountry cabin that sleeps twelve. The bunkroom is separate from the living area and has mattresses but no pillows or linens. There is a large dining and kitchen area. There is a picnic table and Adirondack chairs outside. Peggy O makes for a great base camp for larger groups or for smaller groups looking for spacious accommodations.
Grace Camp is a small one room cabin that sleeps six. As with Peggy O the bunks have mattresses but no pillows or linens. There is a small kitchen area with all the necessary kitchenware. There is a covered porch on the front of the cabin, as well as a picnic table in the side lawn. This a wonderful cabin for families, couples, or small groups to base out of while exploring the surrounding High Peaks.
