phil-brownAre you interested in learning about Adirondack History?  Enjoy lunch with Phil Brown, editor of the Adirondack Explorer and ask him about his adventures in the backcountry, rock climbing, skiing, canoeing, and more.  Brown is the author of the guidebooks Adirondack Paddling: 60 Great Flatwater Adventures, 12 Short Hikes Near Lake Placid, 12 Short Hikes Near Old Forge and 12 Short Hikes Near Keene Valley, (with Tom Woodman, publisher of Adirondack Explorer). Brown is also the editor of Bob Marshall in the Adirondacks, a collection of the Adirondack writings of the first Adirondack Forty-Sixer.

keenebarn_adkPerhaps you have a second home in the Adirondacks or grew up here as a child, and wish to savor the memories by adding to your home’s décor with a beautiful framed vintage poster of the iconic Keene Barn in Keene, NY.  A waypoint on your travels to the High Peaks, the Keene Barn is often photographed and remarked upon.  One Facebook user has said, “I love this barn, it is a landmark to me… we always point out the barn on our way through Keene Valley.”   The barn itself is sagging and weathered from years of disrepair.  This beautifully framed poster will help commemorate this landmark for the next generation.

The auction will run through 12PM on October 19th. Proceeds to go to Adirondack Mountain Club, in order to protect New York State’s natural places. Auction items range from gear and unique gifts to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise.  Tell your friends, family, community. Let the bidding begin!
