AS ADK (ADIRONDACK MOUNTAIN CLUB) CONTINUES TO MONITOR THE SPREAD OF NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19), ADK HAS DEVELOPED THE FOLLOWING RISK MANAGEMENT PROTOCOLS FOR IN-PERSON PROGRAMS WHICH INCLUDE OUR DAY HIKE AND TRAILLESS BACKPACKING SERIES. THE RISK OF CONTRACTING COVID-19 DURING AN ADK PROGRAM CANNOT BE ELIMINATED, BUT WE HAVE IDENTIFIED MITIGATION STRATEGIES TO REDUCE THAT RISK IN A PRE-VACCINE ENVIRONMENT. WITH THOSE STRATEGIES IN PLACE, WE BELIEVE THE RISK CAN BE MANAGED APPROPRIATELY.

Trailless Peak Backpacking

**In response to the uptick in visitation at these popular destinations in New York State’s Forest Preserve, ADK has decided to switch our guided backpacking trip series to a Wednesday through Friday schedule.  While this may not be ideal for everyone, we hope that this new schedule alleviates some of the crowded parking and camping issues our groups encountered during previous seasons.**

These trips are designed for those who have experience hiking and backpacking and who are looking for guided backcountry experience in pursuit of climbing the summits of the High Peaks.  The group will hike into a base camp from which they’ll be guided up the “trailless” peaks.  These courses will be a cooperative group camping experience led by a NYS licensed guide with the shared responsibility of camp chores, cooking, and decision-making.

Cost: $215 (members receive 10% discount); includes instruction, meals, and use of group gear.
