ADIRONDACK MOUNTAIN CLUB HIRES LYNN SHANKS
AS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Lake George, NY — Adirondack Mountain Club Executive Director Neil Woodworth and Board President John Gilewicz announced that, effective November 13, Lynn Shanks will join the ADK staff as Director of Development, overseeing fundraising and marketing. As part of the management team, she will work with staff and volunteer leadership to position the organization for continued growth and success.
Woodworth stated “Lynn Shanks has sixteen years of varied and valuable development experience, most recently as Development Director of Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls, where she raised funds for the expansion and renovation, completed in 2008, and established an annual fund program. She also expanded the Library’s marketing efforts. Prior to that, she served as Director of Development at The Hyde Collection Art Museum, also in Glens Falls.”
“As a hiker, kayaker, and outdoor enthusiast, I am awed by the beauty of New York State,” stated Shanks. “I have long admired the work of Adirondack Mountain Club and look forward to supporting their critical efforts to conserve public lands and teach ethical recreation.” Shanks has resided in the Town of Moreau for 27 years, and is an active Rotarian with the Glens Falls Club. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Russell Sage College.
