The 2021 edition of ADK’s (Adirondack Mountain Club’s) award-winning calendar is now available and features an array of outstanding professional Adirondack photographers. This year, ADK chose to emphasize landscape images of special places. These are the secret places you always go back to, be they a summit, a pond, the deep woods or a site treasured for its wildflowers or frozen waterfalls.

This year’s calendar showcases the photographic works of Ann Nobiling, Carl Heilman II, Joey Priola, Joanne Kennedy, Johnathan Esper, Nancie Battaglia, Sam Cherubin, and Zack Clothier. Also featured in the sidebar of each month are watercolor illustrations by Colette Piasecki-Masters that creatively combine the wildlife we encounter and the tools we use in the woods.

Earlier this year, ADK received the Silver Award in the Best Nonprofit category from the national Calendar Marketing Association (CMA) for its 2020 calendar, the most recent of a significant number of CMA awards for ADK’s calendars over the last fifteen years. CMA celebrates the artistic and technical talents of calendar publishers internationally and uses a panel of judges to rate entries on the quality of artwork, photography, and graphics; the readability and information quality of the calendar grid; the originality of the calendar; the complete execution of the calendar subject or theme; and the fulfillment of the category entered.

The 12-by-9-inch wall calendar (opening to 12 x 18 inches) retails for $13.95. The calendar is widely available at book and outdoor supply stores, at ADK stores in Lake George and Lake Placid, through mail order by calling (800) 395-8080, and online at ADK.org. Proceeds support ADK’s programs in conservation, education, recreation, stewardship, and advocacy.
