Give your teen a summer to remember! ADK’s (Adirondack Mountain Club) summer teen activities offer an adventure for youth ages 13-17. These programs not only teach valuable wilderness skills and life lessons but help foster an ethic of stewardship for our wild lands while instilling a spirit of adventure.
This four-day, three-night camping adventure is for teens ages 14 to 17. Explore Johns Brook Valley’s mountains, streams and lean-tos while we build friendship, camaraderie and outdoor skills in the Adirondack backcountry. Participants will experience hiking high peaks and learning the skills to become a proficient backpacker.
This program is a five-day, four-night adventure in camping and aquatic stewardship for teens age 13-16. Participants will explore the Ausable River watershed, while learning about aquatic ecology and participating in water quality experiments. Participants will camp in a lean-to at Heart Lake’s Wilderness Campground while taking day trips to places along the Ausable River. This program is a partnership of ADK and the Ausable River Association (AsRA).
Experience working on a week-long trail project with fellow peers while camping in the Adirondack backcountry.
Teens (ages 15-17) with backpacking experience: Take your backpacking to the next level by helping to plan, execute and lead a 45-mile backpacking trip along the Northville-Placid Trail.
This four-night paddling adventure is for teens 15 to 17. Take your outdoor leadership skills to the next level by having an opportunity to plan, execute and help lead a paddling adventure in the St. Regis Canoe Area. Along the way we will build friendship, camaraderie and outdoor skills to become a proficient paddler and backcountry recreationist. This program is for participants who have camping experience.
