Position Title:    Volunteer Resource Manager
Reports to:    Executive Director

Volunteer Tasks/Duties:
•  Oversight of recruitment and placement of volunteers with the appropriate volunteer coordinator.
•  Collect, maintain and update information on all ADK Volunteer programs. This includes volunteer applications, job descriptions, forms used by the program, Volunteer Program manual, orientation and training guidelines and website.
•  Provide assistance and advice as needed to ADK Volunteer programs.
•  Report to the Board of Directors annually, under the auspices of the Human Resources Development Committee.

Qualifications:
•  Experience with ADK.
•  Familiarity with data bases, either Excel or Access.
•  Organizational skills.
•  Communications skills.

Time commitment:
•  Minimum of 1 day a month at the Member Services Center.
•  Attendance at Human Resources Development Committee meetings. (3 per year)
•  8 to 10 hours per week after start-up.

Position Title:   Volunteer Merchandise Assistant
Reports to:    Publications Director

Volunteer Tasks/Duties:
•  Count and price new merchandise.
•  Place maps into guidebooks.
•  Process and pack orders.

Qualifications:
•  Ability to write clearly and count accurately.
•  Manual dexterity.
•  May require standing for a period of time.

Time commitment:      4 hours a week

 

Position Title:    Volunteer Office Assistant
Reports to:    Executive Assistant

Volunteer Tasks/Duties:
•  General office support – assist with copying and/or collating materials; help with distributing internal materials and/or filing; type correspondence, procedures and documents.
•  Corporate mailings – assist with various mailings to the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Chapter Chairs, Committee Chairs, Committee members, Working Groups, Project Teams, Department Heads and staff.
•  Policy & Procedure manuals – Assembling new Policy & Procedure (P&P) manuals as needed; make additional copies of policy pages from files, as necessary; update existing P&P manuals after the quarterly Board meetings.

Qualifications:
•  Willingness the learn new things.
•  Knowledge of basic office skills (including clerical).
•  Ability to type is helpful; computer experience a plus.

Time commitment:       4 hours per week.

 

Position Title:   Volunteer Grounds Keeper
Reports to: Michelle Wallace

Volunteer Tasks/Duties:
• 1. Water flowers
• 2. Weed garder, flower box near sign and under bushes
• 3. Raking
• 4. Trim hedges
• 5. General clean-up

Qualifications:            Enjoy working outside

Time commitment:     Flexible – a couple of hours every 2 to 3 weeks.

 

Position Title:   Volunteer Maintenance/Cleaning
Reports to:   Michelle Wallace

Volunteer Tasks/Duties:
•  Check and replace light bulbs as needed.
•  Clean windows.
•  Small maintenance projects.
•  Special projects.

Qualifications:         Willing volunteer. Tasks assigned would be based on skills.

Time commitment:   A few hours monthly (or quarterly).

 

Position Title: Volunteer Host
Reports to:   Member Services Manager

Volunteer Tasks/Duties:
•  Answer telephones.
•  Take messages.
•  Greet visitors.
•  Provide information of ADK membership, programs, activities and available merchandise to visitors.
•  May assist with other projects.

Qualifications:
•  Customer service oriented.
•  Some knowledge of local outdoor recreational opportunities.
•  Basic computer skills.

Time commitment:    4   hours a week from Monday to Friday, but especially on Monday.

 

Position Title:    Volunteer Data Entry
Reports to:    Information Technology Manager

Volunteer Tasks/Duties:
•  Updating member records.
•  Membership survey data entry.
•  Enter and update the volunteer program data base.

Qualifications:         Basic computer skills.

Time commitment:  4 hours per week
