Prospect Mountain
Elevation: 2041 feet
Access: A trailhead in Lake George village leads to a footbridge over the Northway and then straight up the mountain.
A short 1.7 miles goes up steeply to a spectacular view of Lake George that you'll share with those who've driven up the highway.

Fifth Peak on the Tongue Mountain Range
Elevation: 1813 feet
Access: From Rt. 9N north of Bolton Landing on the west side of the lake.
An easy mountain climb of about 2.4 miles to a beautiful view looking out over Lake George and the islands of The Narrows.

Deer Leap
Access: Head north on Rt. 9N past the Tongue Mountain
A 1.1-mile hike to a rocky overlook with views across Lake George to Hulett's Landing.

Buck Mountain Hike
Elevation: 2334 feet
Access: Take Buttermilk Falls Road, from Rt. 149 on the east side of the lake, north to the Hogtown trailhead, or approach from Pilot's Knob.
Both approaches lead to another beautiful view of Lake George from a rocky summit. The trail from Pilot's Knob is steeper and more rugged. Distances are about 2.3 miles from the north and 3.1 miles from Pilot's Knob.

Sleeping Beauty Mountain
Elevation: 2347 feet
Access: Take Buttermilk Falls Road, from Rt. 149 on the east side of the lake, north to the Hogtown trailhead.
This 3.2-mile trail has many switchbacks to keep the steepness moderate. Good views of Lake George and the southeastern Adirondacks.

Shelving Rock Falls
Access: Take Buttermilk Falls Road, from Rt. 149 on the east side of the lake, north to the Hogtown trailhead and Shelving Rock Road.
A walk of about 1.6 miles takes you to an interesting waterfall in an area with Indian artifacts dated to thousands of years B.C.
