Family Snowshoe Day
Please join ADK at the beautiful Heart Lake Program Center to spend the day snowshoeing on our wonderful trails. We will provide the snowshoes and instruction for these guided hikes around our property, as well as sharing bits of natural history including animal tracking and winter ecology. Hikes may include climbing Mt. Jo or snowshoeing to a lean-to to enjoy hot chocolate and enjoy the incredible scenery of the High Peaks. Great for the whole family.
Time: 10 a.m-3 p.m.
Location: Heart Lake Program Center
Cost: $30/$35 adults; $10/$12 kids 6-15; FREE for kids under 6. Includes instruction and snowshoes.

Adirondack Classic Ski Tours: Whiteface Landing
Trip is 6 miles of ungroomed, flat to rolling terrain with a difficulty rating of novice.
Cost: $55/$60; includes guide and instruction.
March 10
Winter High Peaks Hike: Phelps
Whether you are working on your Winter 46, uncomfortable approaching “trailless” high peaks on your own, or just looking for a great winter hike in the mountains, this one-day guided trip is for you. Round-trip distance is 8.8 miles (4161 ft). This hike is strenuous and will require a full day of snowshoeing.
Cost: $55/$60; includes instruction.
March 11
GPS 101
This course will provide an introduction to Global Positioning Systems. We’ll discuss how GPS works, including coordinate systems and other associated terminology, and explain the uses and limitations of GPS. Throughout the course, we’ll go outside and conduct field exercises to solidify our new skills.

March 17
Map and Compass Fundamentals
A great refresher course or a good place to learn the basics of map and compass skills. This course offers an introduction to the fundamentals of map reading, identification of terrain features, compass use, and triangulation. You’ll go home with much more confidence in your ability to use a map and compass when it really counts!

Cost: $65/$72; includes instruction and use of materials.
March 24-25
Wilderness First Aid
This intense course with Wilderness Medical Associates teaches students how to deal with medical emergencies when they are miles from help. The classes offer hands-on scenarios and lecture structure, through which students will learn to assess patients and become certified in wilderness first aid, CPR, and anaphylaxis training. Class time will be spent both inside and out.

Cost: $235 includes instruction and materials.
Package: $320 includes instruction, materials, meals, and lodging for 2 nights
