Full-ServiceFrom late-June through Labor Day Johns Brook Lodge operates as a full-service lodge. This means breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included with your stay. Breakfast and dinner are served family style at 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively. Trail lunches are provided by the end of breakfast. JBL staff are able to accommodate most dietary restrictions and food allergies. All perishable food is packed into the lodge by staff. During a typical summer the crew carries in 4,000 lbs of food and carries out 1,500 lbs of trash.
Caretaker ServiceJBL operates on a caretaker service from early-May to late-June and from Labor Day to Columbus Day. During this time of year the rates are reduced and guests provide their own food. Guests have full access to the JBL kitchen which is a fully equipped commercial kitchen. There are also two refrigerators with freezers, available for guest use.
StoreThere is a small store located inside JBL which provides ADK merchandise such as JBL T-shirts and hats, water bottles, maps, and guidebooks. The store also has additional items that are often forgotten such as batteries, headlamps, bug spray, and sunscreen. Finally, a variety of food and snack items are available from candy bars to homemade ice cream, and cold lemonade to hot coffee.
10-Person BunkroomJBL has two 10-person bunkrooms. Each bunk has a mattress and pillow but linens are not provided. There is a bathroom at the back of each bunkroom which has sinks with running water and a vented vault privy. These bathrooms are shared with adjacent 4-person bunkrooms.
Family RoomsJBL has two 4-person bunkrooms, also known as the family rooms. Like the larger bunkrooms these bunks have a mattress and pillow but no linens. These rooms have been recently refinished with nicer bunks, mattresses, and LED lighting. They are great for families or small groups.
