Seasonal Outings

Seasonal Outings
The ADK Outings Committee coordinates four seasonal outings each year:

Winter Outing is usually held in the Tug Hill region of Central New York where the highest snowfalls in the state are recorded. The main focus is cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Spring Outing
This outing is usually held the third week of June and features hiking, paddling and recreational sites near the hosting chapter's area of New York State. In past years it has been held in the Catskills, Mid-Hudson area, lower New England and Long Island.

Canoe Outing spans a seven- to ten-day period, usually in July or August. Several trip length options may be available. The day trips focus on a variety of canoe and kayak trips in the beautiful St. Regis canoe area of the Adirondacks.

Fall Outing moves around the Adirondacks and features day trips for hiking, canoeing/kayaking, and climbing peaks and fire towers in Wild Forest and Wilderness areas. This outing, over fifty years old and culminating in a Saturday evening banquet, has become an ADK tradition.
