Adirondack Mountain Club Releases New Book -
"No Place I'd Rather Be: Wit and Wisdom from Adirondack Lean-to Journals"
Lake George—The Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) published its newest release, No Place I'd Rather Be: Wit and Wisdom from Adirondack Lean-to Journals, by Stuart F. Mesinger, for immediate sale this summer.
Compiled from entries made in lean-to registers throughout the Adirondack Park and woven together with the commentary of Stu Mesinger, No Place I'd Rather Be contains humor, anger, sadness, frustration, and even some philosophy. In the words of Tom Wheeler, past president of ADK, "The logs are the blogs of the lean-tos.... There is something to entertain and offend virtually everyone."
Purchase of this and other publications, including the upcoming new editions of ADK's Adirondack Trails: West-Central Region and its accompanying map, the most recent installment of the Forest Preserve Series (available fall 2006), helps support ADK's programs in conservation, education, and recreation. Also available are other hiking, canoeing, rock-climbing, and cross-country skiing guides; natural history guides; and cultural and literary histories of the Adirondack and Catskill Parks.
