Volunteers make it possible for ADK to...
provide an extensive outdoor recreation program through ADK chapters. ADK’s 25 volunteer-led chapters coordinate numerous group outdoor recreational opportunities for all skill levels, year-round! Chapters also provide you with an opportunity to make a difference in your local community, whether it is protecting the wilderness, participating in trail work, or testifying at a local hearing. As a chapter member, you will receive a chapter newsletter to keep you informed about outings, education programs, and other chapter activities. Read more...
- provide an opportunity for members to travel the world with fellow ADKers through the Adventure Travel program. Volunteers lead more than 20 domestic and international trips each year. Read more...

Most importantly, ADK is a member-directed organization. Volunteer members are the driving force behind ADK's policy making and strategic decisions. These dedicated volunteers work closely with the diligent ADK staff to ensure that the New York State Forest Preserve is available for the public's enjoyment today and in the future. Read more...
