A Wilderness Affair
November 3, 2007
Many Enjoy Evening at ADK's Gala in Support of our Conservation and Advocacy, Education, and Recreation Programs
The evening's genial atmosphere was enhanced by ADK member Andy Caruso playing his hammered dulcimer and Tim Wechgelaer on the violin.

Bob Wilcox, event chair, started the evening by welcoming the guests and introducing the master of ceremonies Gregory McKnight.

The atmosphere was further enhanced by ADK's own Stan Hall of Cooperstown Brewing Company who provided a variety of beers at his tasting station.
Silent Auction items were displayed in six areas. Bidding on most items was very spirited. Additional bidding sheets were required for a number of highly sought after items. As usual, the jewelry, books and outdoor equipment were especially popular.

By 7 PM most guests were enjoying their dinner of prime
rib, pasta, salads, and desserts. Bidding continued during the dinner period until the tables
were closed one by one.

Additional raffle tickets were available for the quilt, canoe, and camping package. The winning raffle tickets were drawn by Kayla McKnight who assisted her dad Gregory McKnight, the master of ceremonies, just before the live auction began.
Canoe winner: Fred Dillenback - member-at-large.
Camping package: John H Pearson - Cold River Chapter.
Quilt - Terry McKnight - who generously donated the quilt back to ADK.

The live auction conducted by Jim and Danielle Carter of Acorn Auctions and Estates was the last major event of the evening. Included in the live auction were the twelve chapter baskets.

Bidding during the live auction was spirited indeed!
Many thanks to all the attendees for your support of ADK's Conservation and Advocacy, Education, and Recreation Programs. Also kudos to ADK's staff and volunteers who made the Wilderness Affair such a great success.
Plans are already underway for next years event!
