Some Letters Written by Guests at the Loj

I am a new ADK member, and I just wanted to share my thoughts on my first stay at the Loj.  Wow! 

Our BSA Venture Crew came in on Friday 7/18, and stayed in the loft.  The accomodations, were great.  The food was absolutely fantastic, and every member of the staff was amazing.  All our questions and needs were taken care of quickly by friendly people.  We were all made to feel very comfortable at the Loj, and at the Information center.

This was certainly the best way to finish a week-long trek though the 'dacks!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone at the Adirondack Loj for making our stay so wonderful. My brother and I arrived Saturday afternoon, had a wonderful dinner and got up early Sunday morning and climbed Mt Marcy (my first time -his second) came back to the loj and had a wonderful dinner and breakfast the next morning.
Everyone there from Christine who signed us in on Saturday to Becky who helped us check out and reserve some time for next year on Monday morning, were absolutely wonderful and very helpful and gracious. Mel and her staff provided excellent meals and a delightful and fun experience.  Neither of us have ever stayed there previously but we have already signed up for next year and hope to bring others with us. It was one of the best weekends ever!

first wanted to say that I recently stayed at your site and had a marvelous time. (My wife and sister-in-law stayed in the Loj for a night and my son and I spent 4 nights in a
tent site.) Your accommodations were great. The "girls" thoroughly enjoyed their staY. as did the "boys". From a tenting perspective, the site was surprisingly large -offering a good amount of buffer between campers. The facilities were clean and well kept. The location was central for numerous day hikes. The staff at the Loj and Info Center were fantastic. Most importantly, my son and I had a fantastic time with our hikes. Each hike was challenging and the views and scenery was postcard-perfect.


After returning home, I have told people that this was the best vacation that I've ever had. I wouldn't trade this vacation for any other.  Not surprisingly, we want to return. This time, we'd like to bring along some colleagues from my son's Boy Scout Troop.

Hi-

I am writing this to tell you about the wonderful experience my family and friends had at the Adirondack Loj.

My husband and I rented the Loj for three days for our daughter's wedding on July 7. We had family and friends staying with us. The Loj itself is such a special place. We enjoyed all it offered.  The food at every meal was great, but the food at the wedding reception was exceptional. There were many favorable comments about it.

All of the staff was friendly and accommodating. We had wanted to have the reception outside but it rained on the wedding day. The staff was prepared to change plans and have the reception inside. They made everything run smoothly. I would especially like to thank Janet, Holly, Alison and Becky for their help and hospitality.

The Adirondack Loj is a jewel. Thank you so much for many special memories.

To the General Manager:

My siblings and I arranged a small family reunion in honor of our mother's birthday and my parents' wedding anniversary on the weekend of June 10th, 2005. Our parents raised us to appreciate the outdoors, and as small children, we were brought to the Adirondacks for family vacations. We could not think of a better place to come and honor our perents.
We stayed with you at the Adirondak Loj. Some of us stayed in the Loj. Some of us camped. I just want to write to tell you how wonderfully each and every one of your employees treated my family members. They were patient, helpful, courteous, and kind. They contributed to making this family gathering one of the most memorable we have ever had, and for that we are deeply grateful. It was a rare and memorable gathering, and each one of us will treasure the memory of it forever.
Please share this with your staff members.

Dear ADK Staff,

Now that we have returned to Washington, D.C. again, I very much want to drop you this line and thank you all for the wonderful and glorious week we spent with you.
My two friends and I extend to you our sincere gratitude and commend you for a job very well done. You were all so very helpful and courteous; every day we experienced your genuine joy of being there for us. You work hard - very hard- and that is why we'd love to come back again and again. The Adirondack Mountains are beautiful indeed, but your easy going and friendly hospitality and the always delicious and tasty meals all helped to make our stay so very special and spectecular.
Hope you all have a great summer and treasuer the memories of your working at the Loj. Thanks again, you were terriffic!
