Adirondack Mountain Club This policy covers Web sites owned or operated by The Adirondack Mountain Club. Since its inception in 1922 The Adirondack Mountain Club has also been known as ADK.

The Adirondack Mountain Club is dedicated to the protection and responsible recreational use of the New York State Forest Preserve, parks and other wild lands and waters. The Club, founded in 1922, is a member-directed organization committed to public service and stewardship. ADK employs a balanced approach to outdoor recreation, advocacy, environmental education and natural resource conservation.

The Adirondack Mountain Club respects the privacy of visitors to our site. We are committed to honoring your privacy preferences. We recognize that visitors to our site may be concerned about the information they provide to us and how The Adirondack Mountain Club treats that information.

Visitors should know the following:
You can visit most portions of the Adirondack Mountain Club website without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. There are occasions, however, when we will ask for additional information. This may be necessary when we need to respond to your requests for information, when you donate, purchase goods, or join the Adirondack Mountain Club through the site. However, in all of these circumstances, you must decide to data is voluntarily provide such data. For example, personally identifiable information will be collected in order for you to become a member of The Adirondack Mountain Club. Contact information from order forms is used to send orders, invoices and information about The Adirondack Mountain Club to you.

The Adirondack Mountain Club’s Use of Information:
Members personally identifiable information may sometimes be made available to other non-profit organizations. Because we respect our member's privacy, the Board of Directors has placed strict limits on such use. Personally identifiable information about nonmembers is maintained strictly for the use of the Adirondack Mountain Club and will not be divulged to other organizations.

Security of Your Credit Card Information:
We have made every effort to insure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive user information using industry accepted data collection and encryption methodologies.

If you are still concerned about the safety of your credit card information online, you may also submit contributions or other payment to The Adirondack Mountain Club by mailing a check as directed by instructions on the appropriate pages of our website.

We provide links to third party sites including sites maintained by ADK Chapters. Because we do not control those Web sites, we encourage you to review the privacy policies posted on these third party sites. With the exception of ADK Chapter sites, that another web site is linked to our site does not constitute an endorsement by The Adirondack Mountain Club of the owner of the other site, the content of its site, or its products or services.

Children 13 and Under:
In any section of the site that requests personal information, visitors 13 years of age and under are reminded to obtain permission from an adult before supplying the requested information. Even our products such as "Kids on the Trail" anticipate adult supervision for recreational activities. The Adirondack Mountain Club does not actively advertise products in any section of the site intended specifically for children
